Ares! Destroy My Enemies and My Life Is Yours refers to a scene from God of War where Kratos, moments from death, offers his loyalty to Ares if he'll destroy his enemies. The scene went viral on TikTok in November 2022, inspiring both lip dub videos using its audio and image macro formats using the clip.

Origin

In a cutscene from the 2005 PlayStation game God of War, Kratos, at war with barbarians, pledges his loyalty to Ares right before he's killed, yelling, "Ares! Destroy my enemies and my life is yours!" Ares then comes down and saves Kratos. The clip was uploaded to YouTube[1] on April 29th, 2018, garnering over 172,000 views in four years (shown below).

On November 27th, 2022, TikToker[2] @kingtourdy posted an image macro style meme using the clip captioned, "POV: when I'm getting whooped by a bully but the strong autistic kid walks by," using the clip to have Kratos represent himself calling to the autistic kid for help, garnering over 1.3 million views in a month (shown below).

In the next month, the original sound for @kingtourdy's video was used over 1,600 times in lip dub videos and similar image macro style memes about calling on someone to help in a dire situation, often with offensive or racist connotations. For example, on December 2nd, 2022, TikTokers[3][4] @unbrok3n_ and @manlikeisaac posted videos using the sound that garnered over 1.2 million and 1.8 million views respectively in three weeks (shown below, left and right).
