POV: Your Kidney Gets Stolen refers to a voice-acted gameplay clip of DayZ in which the camera gives the point of view of a person awaking to discover that a group of scary but unexpectedly helpful men tell them they have taken their kidney as well as their gallbladder.
Origin
On January 29th, 2024, YouTube user The Noob From Hell[1] posted an edited, voice-acted DayZ clip in which men tell the protagonist they have taken one of their kidneys but also removed their gallbladder, which could have caused them trouble later. The video gained over 218,000 views in six weeks (shown below).
In the comments, The Noob From Hell explains the clip is taken from the now-deleted STALKER 2013 DayZ roleplay server and had circulated online at an earlier date.
Spread
The video inspired several users to re-animate the scene using other games on YouTube. For example, on January 27th, 2024, which was before the YouTube upload of the original video but after its creation in the STALKER DayZ server, YouTuber Onyx[2] posted a reanimation of the video in Roblox, gaining over 267,000 views in six weeks (shown below, left). On March 5th, 2024, YouTuber Xirius[3] uploaded a recreation of the scene in the actual game S.T.A.L.K.E.R, gaining over 60,000 views in ten days (shown below, right).
