Puzzle Piece Monica From Friends is an image macro and image edit meme based a puzzle that features an image from the television series Friends. In the image, the character Monica's mouth falls between two pieces, making the gap between them appear as though it is her smile.

Origin

On February 20th, 2021, Imgur [1] user TheDrizzle upload the image, where it received more than 72,000 views and 1,500 upvotes in less than two weeks (shown below).



Spread

Following the post, the image spread to Reddit. On February 23rd, 2021, Redditor nyzerdw posted the image in the /r/funny[2] subreddit, where it received more than 10,000 points (96% upvoted) and 170 comments in less than two weeks. Redditor ___Grenggett___ posted the image in the /r/blursedimages[5] subreddit, where it received more than 53,000 points (97% upvoted) and 380 comments in less than two week.

After the post, on February 26th, Redditor SmokeMachine2020 posted a version of the image in the /r/memes[3] subreddit that's edited into a scene from South Park, featuring the characters Terrence and Philip, comparing their flappy heads to the image. The post received more than 96,000 points (95% upvoted) and 300 comments in less than two weeks (shown below, left).

Additionally, that day, Redditor posted an edited version of the image, which superimposes the photo into the film It, in the /r/memes.[4] The post received more than 28,000 (98% upvoted) and 100 comments in less than two weeks (shown below, right).
