Quack Mirror is an exploitable webcomic series in which the third panel of a Black Mirror parody comic is photoshopped for humorous effect.

Origin

On February 23rd, 2018, webcomic series Pandyland released episode three of a series called "Quack Mirror." The issues shows two ducks, one holding a tablet and saying, "There's a new app that can tell your depest sexual fantasty from your picture, let's try it honey." The duck holds it to their spouse and the phone shows a picture of a baby duck. The final panel shows the spouse being taken away by police. On Twitter, ^[1] the comic (shown below) received more than 580 retweets and 1,300 likes in about two weeks.

Spread

On March 5th, Redditor ^[2] Ktnmrrll posted the comic on the /r/blackmirror subreddit. The post received more than 14,000 points (91% upvoted) and 470 comments in one week.

That day, Imgur ^[3] epibolic posted a variation that replaced the third panel with a painting for a duck biting a young boy's penis. The post (shown below, left) received more than 2,300 views in seven days.

Additionally, that day, Redditor^[4] Boristhespaceman posted a variation in the /r/WorldofTanks subreddit, and the post (shown below, center) received more than 300 points (96% upvoted) in one week.

About six days later, Redditor^[5] Shady_Connor posted a template of the meme in the /r/MemeEconomy subreddit. The post (shown below, right) received more than 580 points (96% upvoted) in 24 hours.

The following day, Redditor^[6] truitex47 posted a variation placing an image of Shrek and Donkey from the Shrek films in the third panel. The post (shown below) received more than 3,300 points (98% upvoted) and 50 comments in less than 12 hours.
