Rainbow Factory is a ToastBeard entry made by Youtuber WoodenToaster, who is widely known for his YouTube remixes, the most popular of which being Pinkie's Lie.

Origin

Rainbow Factory came out on August 14, 2011 when WoodenToaster submitted it as a ToastBeard weekly compo "How a rainbow is made". The song quickly gained popularity. It became even more popular when a grimdark fanfiction based on the song was posted on Google Docs by Aurora Dawn.

Plot

Rainbow Factory begins when Scootaloo fails her flight exam, along with a few others. They are banished and sent to the Rainbow Factory, where failees are ground into Scectra, parts of a rainbow. To Scootaloo's horror, Rainbow Dash is the one behind the scheme. Scootaloo manages to escape, but gets caught again. An unofficial ending states that Rainbow Dash hurled herself into the Rainbow Factory machine after breaking away from her own insanity.
