Running Through The Six With My Woes and Deep Realization refer to a number of trends on TikTok set to the 2015 song "Know Yourself" by Drake and a remix of the song mashing it up with a clip of SpongeBob SquarePants singing. The song first became popular on the app in early 2020, seeing a revival in July 2021 with the hashtag "#DeepRealization."

Origin

On February 13th, 2015, Canadian rapper Drake released the album If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late, including the song "Know Yourself" (shown below).[1]



Spread

Vine

The song first became popular on Vine as early as 2015, where it was used over various clips, often showing people running, for comedic effect. One of the most well-known Vines using the song shows a clip of Drake as Jimmy in the Canadian series Degrassi: The Next Generation getting shot and paralyzed by a school shooter (shown below).

Krusty Krab Remix

In late 2019, TikToker[2] @_adrlen uploaded a remixed version of "Know Yourself" to TikTok, adding a scene from SpongeBob Squarepants to the end in which SpongeBob sings about the Krusty Krab being unfair (original clip shown below, left, remix shown below, right). The original video associated with the TikTok upload has since been deleted.



The original sound[3] went viral on TikTok, inspiring over 500,000 videos over the course of 2020 and 2021. On December 39th, 2019, TikToker[4] @coreyscherer posted a video dancing to the song, garnering over 5.3 million views and sparking a dance trend (shown below, left). The most popular video performing the dance was uploaded by TikToker[5] @ondreazlopez on January 13th, 2020, garnering over 8.2 million views in a year (shown below, right).

Deep Realization

In July 2021, the hashtag "#DeepRealization" started trending on TikTok along with the official original sound for "Know Yourself." The trend sees TikTokers lip-dubbing to the song while representing a "deep realization," either positive or negative, over on-screen text (examples shown below, left and right).
