Reaction
With the emergence of the news of outbreaks in Wales on February 27th, 2020, Scotland became the only country of the United Kingdom not to have a positive case of coronavirus. Scottish people on Twitter started to comment on the news as it broke and commented on the measures that the Scottish Government were putting in place in an event of a case in Scotland.
Others also referenced Scottish culture by referencing football team Rangers and using Scottish patter to reflect their opinions on the outbreak (see below).
Twitter user @joeheenan posted a tweet in which he stated that he heard a man saying that if Coronavirus came to Scotland, he would "kick it's c**t in". The tweet received over 6,500 likes and 200 retweets (see below).
A Moments post was published on Twitter which showed some of the tweets by Scottish Twitter users in response to the Coronavirus outbreak which showed humorous references and opinions.
Outbreak in Scotland
On March 1st, 2020, the first case of coronavirus was confirmed in Scotland after a man from the country's Tayside area was tested positive. After the news broke out, Scottish Twitter users continued to mock the coronavirus coming to Scotland.
Scottish National Party Blame Game
Scottish Twitter users, mainly some that supported the cause of Scottish independence, remarked that when the moment coronavirus hits Scotland, Scottish unionist supporters would begin automatically blaming the Scottish National Party (SNP), the party of government in Scotland and start calling for the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon as the First Minister of Scotland.

Some also joked that BBC Scotland News would blame the SNP on any coronavirus outbreak in Scotland with Twitter user @msm_monitor, an account which provides information on inaccuracies in the Scottish mainstream media, stating that BBC Scotland News were trying to bring "Coronavirus" and "Scotland" all into one story in an attempt to smear the SNP.
BREAKING!
We've caught BBC Scotland trying to hide a fake news blunder. The article was the top story on its online news page yesterday. It attacked the Scottish Govt. It's now disappeared. The fake claim also featured in Radio Scotland news bulletins.
