"It's called a shoto and it's a nod to a traditional Japanese fighting style where the samurai would use two swords, one much shorter than the other. The shorter blade would be used to parry and deflect incoming blows to create openings for quick slashes at fatal body parts with the long sword."
This Copypasta originated from the Sithposting member Kristopher Cochran on Facebook who was responding to the fanbases reaction to the Star Wars: The Clone Wars (series) character, Ahsoka, as she gained two lightsabers, one shorter than the other.
Sithposting (and indeed other Star Wars groups) had been questioning the design of such a combination, arguing it would only inhibit her ability to inflict damage. Kristopher, a self described "weeaboo", decided it was time to end the debate once and for all, explaining the wisdom behind the decision.
Immediately after making his post with the Copypasta, members of Sithposting started making it into a Copypasta. Within a month, members of the group were dreading the next time someone would bait out the pasta.
