Singing Undertale Man, also known as Bababa or Bah Bah Bah Bah, is a black-and-white video of a creepy man with a distorted Trollface filter singing a remix of the Undertale song "Fallen Down" (titled "Underbase: Fallen Down") made by Oasty. It was originally posted to TikTok and later became an exploitable used in memes referencing Five Nights at Freddy's and the My Reaction To That Information meme trend.

Origin

On May 11th, 2022, TikToker[1] thatoneguy.tt posted a lip-dub video of himself with the "Expressions" filter on TikTok, distorting his face and circularly moving around his room singing a remix of the Undertale song "Fallen Down" created by Oatsy.[2] Over the course of one month, the video received roughly 4.7 million plays and 537,000 likes (shown below).

The original remix song by Oatsy, titled "Underbase: Fallen Down," that's used in the Bababa memes was uploaded to his YouTube[6] channel on October 22, 2015, and received 7.7 million views and 267,000 likes in seven years (seen below).

Going into the remainder of May 2022, other TikTokers started to post their own creepy lip dubs of the Undertale remix. For instance, on May 13th, 2022, TikToker[3] nesta.heaps posted his own that received roughly 3.6 million plays and 494,900 likes in one month (shown below, left). On May 17th, 2022, TikToker[4] sixfoot_dancer posted his own, earning roughly 500,600 plays and 63,100 likes in one month (shown below, right).

My Reaction To That Information

Sometime in early May 2022, a black-and-white version of thatoneguy.tt's video surfaced, using the My Reaction To That Information format. The earliest known posting of the video was made on May 16th, 2022, by YouTuber[5] TheLataSwaten, who earned roughly 486,700 views and 29,000 likes in one month (since deleted). It is unknown if this is the original upload.

The aforementioned video propelled the meme into more and more iterations going into the remainder of May and into June 2022. For instance, on June 6th, 2022, the YouTube account of Quandale Dingle posted a video using the clip that received roughly 1.9 million views in 10 days (shown below, left). On June 10th, 2022, YouTuber Lil Lockness posted a Misheard Song Lyric Speech Bubbles video referencing Turi Ip Ip Ip and Exposed Nerve alongside the My Reaction To That Information video, earning roughly 122,900 views in six days (shown below, right).
