Turi Ip Ip Ip refers to a series of memes similar to the wenomechainsama videos where misheard, phonetically spelled lyrics from the 2014 song "Symbolism" by Electro-Light are presented in a speech bubble attached to a character. The original edit was posted to TikTok in May 2022 and inspired variants over the following weeks on TikTok and YouTube.

Origin

On November 27th, 2014, YouTuber[1] NoCopyrightSounds posted a song titled "Symbolism" by Electro-Light, gaining over 198 million views in eight years (shown below).



On May 12th, 2022, TikToker[2] @cappeman1 posted a video in the style of the "wenomechaniasama" meme where the phonetic lyrics of the song, consisting of audio clips that sound like, "turi ip ip ip," are presented in a speech bubble over constantly changing images of various dogs, including the A A Follow dog, gaining over 6.6 million views in three weeks (shown below).

The original sound for the upload was used over 4,000 times in three weeks in both random videos and videos also following the trend, replacing the dog images with another character. For example, on May 20th, 2022, TikToker[4] @stoopy_miku posted a video representing the lyrics through a fish, gaining over 2 million views in two weeks (shown below).

On May 27th, a YouTuber[5] uploaded a lyric video for the song using the misheard lyrics, gaining over 271,000 views in four days (shown below, left). On May 29th, YouTuber[6] SubToMe posted a version of the meme where the faces of Jesse and Walter White from Breaking Bad rap battle "Turi Ip Ip Ip" versus "Wenomechainsama," gaining over 770,000 views in two days (shown below, right). On May 30th, YouTuber[3] Lessons In Meme Culture uploaded a video about the meme, gaining over 297,000 views in a day.



Wecomechainsama

Wecomechainsama or Wenamichoinasama, also known as When I Met You in The Summer, refers to a series of ironic misheard lyric video memes where the lyrics to "Summer" by Calvin Harris are presented line by line with the incorrect, phonetic spelling of the lyrics. The original video was posted by Instagram user dank.__.growlithe around June 2021 and inspired a meme where the lyrics are sung by a guinea pig in October 2021, becoming an exploitable template on TikTok and YouTube over the following year.
