Overview

Mogwarts is an online looksmaxxing and self-improvement course run by influencer K. Shami that offers weekly lessons from other influencers in improving your facial aesthetics, including your "hair, jawline, skin, eye area," also offering courses on "wealth creation, status and social dynamics." The name "Mogwarts" is a portmanteau of mogging and Hogwarts, the fictional school from the Harry Potter franchise. Mogwarts is available via a monthly $39.99 USD subscription and also offers a scholarship program. In late December 2023, influencer and model Chico Lachowski claimed during a TikTok LIVE stream that he was the principal of Mogwarts and K. Shami began posting memes claiming he'd been demoted to the Mogwarts janitor.

History

The Mogwarts.net^[1][2] domain was registered on October 17th, 2023. K. Shami, aka @syrianpsycho on TikTok, an influencer with over 1.3 million followers and founder of Mogwarts, began increasingly advertising the online self-improvement course in November 2023. On November 15th, 2023, he posted a video to TikTok^[3] about Mogwarts that gained over 400,000 views in a month (shown below, left). On December 18th, he posted a video to TikTok^[4] announcing the launch of Mogwarts, garnering over 1.2 million views in the same span of time (shown below, right).

The Mogwarts website homepage offers a video introduction to the class, where K. Shami explains what Mogwarts is about, talks about the custom textbooks available for students and describes it as a school where students learn how to improve their facial aesthetic and "much more" (shown below).

Chico Lachowski Becomes Principal of Mogwarts

Around December 26th, 2023, influencer and model Chico Lachowski went live on TikTok, where he jokingly announced that he was opening a school called "Mogwarts" and that he would be the principal. The clip was uploaded by TikToker^[5] @looks.maxerss on December 27th, garnering over 2 million views in a week (shown below).

Following the clip's virality, K. Shami began posting memes about Lachowski becoming the president of Mogwarts and about himself being demoted to the school's janitor. For example, on December 27th, the TikToker^[6] posted a slideshow showing himself mopping the floors of Mogwarts, garnering over 1.1 million views in a week. On December 29th, he posted a Duet to TikTok^[7] where he mops a floor while Lachowski makes his announcement, garnering over 500,000 views in five days (shown below, left).

On January 2nd, 2024, TikToker^[8] @syrianpsycho posted a video sharing Lachowski's response to the janitor/principal jokes, which he made during another TikTok LIVE stream. In the video, Lachowski claims he had no idea there was a real Mogwarts, wishes K. Shami well and says he only mentioned it because a viewer made a comment about him becoming the principal of Mogwarts (shown below, right). The video gained over 2 million views in a day.

Mogwarts became the subject of memes on TikTok following its December 2023 opening, which were increased later that month when Chico Lachowski jokingly claimed he was the principal of the school. On December 20th, 2023, TikToker^[9] @coydawg34 posted a meme mentioning Mogwarts, garnering over 6 million views in two weeks (shown below, left). On December 22nd, the @schoolofmogwarts TikTok^[10] page posted a meme that gained over 200,000 views in two weeks (shown below, right).

On December 29th, TikToker^[11] @notsafeforwear posted a video creating a Mogwarts T-shirt, garnering over 2 million views in five days (shown below, right).
