About
Netflix Party is a Google Chrome extension that allows people to sync content on Netflix and offers a group chat option in the sidebar of the video.
History
Developed by Stephan Boyer, Netflix Party launched in 2016.[1]
Features
Users must download the Netflix Party from the Google Chrome extensions store. Once installed and added to Chrome, users must go to the Netflix website. When the video is playing, users must click the "NP" icon in the address bar and click "Start Party." The extension then creates a URL to be sent as invitations for the watch party. The extension support high-definition viewing and also allows users to upload screenshots, emojis and GIFs.[2]
There is also a Patreon tier, which offers voice chat.[3]
