Vat19 is a website intended for marketing "curiously awesome" products. It is popular on the internet for its informative and entertaining advertisements on Youtube, which are known for their quirky writing and visual humor.
History
Vat19 was founded in 2001 by Jamie Salvatori. Initially established to promote their line of DVD productions, the site gained much popularity, allowing them to leverage their online presence by promoting other products. The first non-DVD product to be advertised was the fireplace-scented candles in 2005. It quickly became popular with Vat19's fanbase, encouraging the employees to look for other "curiously awesome" products to sell.[1]
Since it began, the company has made over 1,400 videos.[2] In addition to promoting products, they currently have a video newsletter,[3] as well as occasional behind-the-scenes footage.[4]

As of August 2020, Vat19 has a global rank of approx. 62,000 on Alexa, and a rank of about 25,000 in the United States.[5] The YouTube channel receives much more attention – there are currently over 7.4 million people subscribed, and the videos usually gain over one million views in a month.
