So The First Night Isn't Usually That Bad In Any Of The Games refers to a series of meme edits based on American YouTuber Markiplier playing the horror game Five Nights at Freddy's 4 before getting jumpscared by Nightmare Chica moments later. In April and May 2021, the viral clip and catchphrase were popularized on YouTube.

Origin

On July 24th, 2015, YouTube[1] Markiplier uploaded part one of his Five Night at Freddy's 4 playthrough. In the video, Markiplier plays the first night of the game, and at 5 a.m., Markiplier says the quote and goes to the right door, opens it and turns on the flashlight. Chica comes when the flashlight is turned on, Markiplier gets scared and screams while falling back on his chair. The video hit 37.5 million views in six years (shown below).

On February 2nd, 2020, YouTuber[2] "king's studio's 2007" posted a clip of the meme, gaining 681,594 views in one year (shown below).

On April 24th, 2020, YouTuber[3] Footsock posted a version in which, when Nightmare Chica comes and jumpscares Markiplier, music from EarthBound plays and the camera zooms into Markiplier, the video gained 600,317 views in one year (shown below, left). On March 7th, 2021, YouTuber[4] RejectedGecko posted a version that cuts the clip of Nightmare Chica jumpscaring him with the Why Are We Still Here? audio and zooming in on Markiplier's face. The video gained 72,395 views in eight months (shown below, right).
