About

Speakiposting refers to a series of viral videos and images of the character Speaki (スピッキー / 스피키) from the mobile game Trickcal:Chibi Go. The most well-known image from the meme is of Speaki tearing up on all fours with a hopeless expression on her face, which often appears in Japanese MAD videos in a variety of humorous scenarios. Though Trickal:Chibi Go was originally released in Korea in September 2023, the meme was first created with the release of a Korean MAD video in July 2025 and went viral in October 2025 after its discovery by the Japanese community.[1]

In Japan, to disambiguate Speaki's appearance in the original game from her incarnation in the meme, her name is written as スピキ or スピキ, rather than スピッキー.

Background

Trickal:Chibi Go[2] (also known as Trickcal RE:VIVE in Korea) is an auto-battling gacha game for mobile platforms developed by the Korean studio EPID Games. Its origins lie in another, unreleased title by the studio named Roll the Chess, which was intended to be an auto-battling game with an ediger artstyle, but was panned for its subpar gameplay and graphics in pre-release. However, the demo tutorial art by the popular Korean chibi artist Diyap was widely praised, so after Roll the Chess was scrapped the studio pivoted to a more light-hearted game with the art team headed by Diyap instead. This would form the basis of the games Trickcal (2021) and Trickcal RE:VIVE (2023). The original Trickcal would subsequently be shut down after major issues with the game surfaced concerning monetization, lackluster gameplay and game-breaking issues. Diyap would eventually leave EPID, forcing the studio to find another artist who could replicate his artstyle closely enough. Trickcal RE:VIVE would eventually be released in Korea on September 27th 2023 and go on to gain a sizeable following in its home country.[3]

Origin

The memetic audio and imagery featuring Speaki originates during the 7th chapter of the first season of the game's main story titled "Bat Is the Medicine", shown below:

On July 10th, 2025, Korean YouTube [4] user Trikat 트리캣 uploaded a MAD video remixing the Speaki image and voicelines from the chapter, garnering 1,500,000 views and 28,000 likes over the span of 7 months.

Spread

Trickal:Chibi Go was released globally on October 9th, 2025, supporting territories speaking English, Japanese and Traditional Chinese.[1]

On October 19th, 2025, Japanese YouTube [5] user 稀方映司 uploaded another MAD video remixing the earlier Korean video by Trikat 트리캣, garnering 693,000 views and 23,000 likes over the span of 4 months. Following this would be a viral resurgence of the meme amongst the Japanese-speaking population, with hundreds of videos by various creators uploaded to YouTube from November 2025 onward.

On November 28th, 2025, the meme was officially acknowledged by EPID Games, who uploaded an animated video of the Speakiposting meme on their official YouTube [6] channel, garnering 4,800,000 views and 18,000 likes in two and a half months.

On December 19th, 2025, Korean YouTube [7] user Coroskai uploaded a mashup video combining the Speakiposting meme with the song 粉雪 by the Japanese rock band Remioromen, garnering 2,500,000 views and 93,000 likes in under two months.
