SSJ4 Gogeta vs. Cabba, also known as SSJ4 Gogeta vs. Base Cabba, refers to a viral debate among Dragon Ball fans about who would win in a fight, Super Saiyan 4 level Gogeta (SSJ4 Gogeta) or base form Cabba (Base Cabba). The debate was originally sparked on Twitter / X in 2021. However, most memes and viral fan discourse surfaced in September 2024 across X, TikTok and Reddit, among other social media platforms, following the release of Sparking! ZERO.

The earliest discovered evidence of the debate is a reply shared by X^[1] user @EvolTajador on February 14th, 2021, who references a "SSJ4 Gogeta vs. Base form Cabba thread" that is currently unknown. The tweet received 16 likes in three years.

Spread

Later in 2021, on October 22nd, X^[2] user @DBBadTakePolice shared screenshots of a thread about "Super Saiyan 4 Gogeta vs. Caulifla" that included mentions of Base Cabba, gaining over 960 likes in three years (shown below).

On December 18th, 2021, Redditor^[3] zaiikage shared a post to /r/Dragonballsuper that joked, "Cabba after SSJ4 Gogeta uses Big Bang kamehameha," gaining over 730 upvotes in three years (shown below).

In 2024, the discourse resurfaced en masse, evident in a post shared by X^[4] user @Extralongdokkan on September 19th, 2024, that attached a screenshot of the abovementioned post, captioned, "I can finally recreate this in Sparking Zero," gaining over 27,000 likes in six days (shown below).

On September 23rd, X^[5] user @Fade_Coms quoted the abovementioned post with a video, captioned, "What would really happen if Cabba fought SSJ4 Gogeta," earning over 10,000 likes in two days (shown below).

During the same timeframe, memes and discourse about the matchup surfaced on TikTok.
