DC Super Hero Girls is a 2019 animated tv series developed by Lauren Faust (of MLP:FiM fame)
Origins
Before the show was announced, DC Super Hero Girls existed as a web series and toy line in 2015 to promote the many female characters DC Comics has. On May of 2017, it was announced a TV Series would be produced with Lauren Faust, who had also previously produced several cult favorite shorts for DC Nation Shorts known as Super Best Friends Forever. The show would premier on Cartoon Network on March 8, 2019.
