About

Doggyland is an animated web series created by rapper Snoop Dogg in mid-2022 that aims to educate early childhood infants with remixed versions of nursery rhymes and original content about positivity, similar in style to Cocomelon. Doggyland posted its first video in August 2022, and within two months of launching the project, it amassed over 10 million views between its YouTube, Twitter and TikTok accounts combined. The viral video for the song "Affirmations" also trended online in early November of that year as people memed and reacted to it online.

History

On May 18th, 2022, the YouTube channel for Doggyland was officially created,[1] with the about section showing that the project was described as a collaboration between Snoop Dogg, October London and Claude Brooks, best known for being the executive producer for Hip Hop Harry. Six months later, the first piece of content[2] was uploaded to the channel with it being a remixed version of nursery rhymes posted on August 18th, 2022, and gaining over 860,000 views in two months (shown below).



Online Presence

On August 23rd, 2022, the TikTok account belonging to Doggyland uploaded a TikTok[3] video to hype the series up and show a preview, with examples of the content shown within the channel. This TikTok achieved minor virality with over 540,000 views and 80,000 likes in two months, many of the comments talking about Snoop Dogg finally having an official fursona in reference to his anthropomorphic dog character and doing children's entertainment (shown below).

"Affirmations" Viral Video

On November 1st, 2022, a video from Doggyland showing the animated dog voiced by Snoop Dogg dancing with various children to the new original song "Affirmations" went viral on Twitter after the account @whotfisjovana[4] tweeted it out, receiving over 4.1 million views and 300,000 likes in two days while putting more eyes on the project (shown below).
