Dragon Ball Daima is an upcoming anime series set in the Dragon Ball universe. The series, which feature de-aged Goku, Vegeta, Piccolo and other characters, was announced in October 2023 and is expected to release Fall 2024.

History

In early September 2023, Dragon Ball insider DBS_Chronicles leaked information about upcoming Dragon Ball anime series.^[1] On September 23rd, 2023, another insider, Geekdom101 backed up the leak, sharing more information about the series, at that time known as Dragon Ball Magic, on YouTube.^[2] Later that day, a ResetEra^[3] thread about the upcoming series was created.

On October 12th, 2023, at New York Comic Con Dragon Ball Special Panel, the series, titled Dragon Ball Daima was revealed with an announcement trailer (shown below).^[4]

In the trailer, Goku, Vegeta, Chi Chi, Piccolo and other characters are shown de-aged, and the place of new anime in the franchise timeline is currently unknown. The series are drawn by Dragon Ball creator Akira Tomiyama.^[5]

Initial Reactions

The announcement trailer was followed by posts which poked fun at the premise of fighting toddlers and expressed frustration that Dragon Ball Super manga was not getting animated: for example, on October 12th, X^[6] user @UltimaShadowX referenced the trailer with a Gravity Falls clip which received over 430 reposts and 1,500 likes (shown below).
