About

Killing Bites (キリングバイツ Kiringu Baitsu) is a manga series written by Shinya Murata and illustrated by Kazasa Sumita.[1] It was later adapted into an anime series directed by Yasuto Nishikata and written by Aoi Akashiro.

Premise

Yuya Nomoto, an ordinary college student, meets a mysterious high-school student called Hitomi. At a deserted landfill, he sees her transform into a beast and fight a lion monster, entering a world of "Brutes," creatures with brains of humans and fangs of beasts. Hitomi is a Ratel, a Brute with a strong killer instinct. Nomoto gets involved in their battles, which are called Killing Bites.[2]

History

The Killing Bites manga has been serialized since November 2013 in Shogakukan's seinen manga magazine, Monthly Hero's. There have been ten tankōbon volumes of the series. The anime was adapted by Liden Films and aired from January 13 to March 31, 2018.[1]

Reception

The initial reaction to the anime was divided. Some saw the show as offering too much fan service for Furries. [3] Fans of the show argued that while the show did offer fan service for furries, it also exhibited great art, fights, and the right amount of self-awareness.[4][5][6][7][8] The show has accumulated around 60,000 MyAnimeList members since its airing[10] and is rated a 4.6 out of 5 on its Amazon Prime streaming page.[2]

What is Killing Bites / Sharper Fangs

Hitomi's frequently-repeated claims "the one with the sharper fangs wins" and that "that's what Killing Bites is"[9] are frequently referenced by fans in Killing Bites or honey-badger related content online.[11]

How to win a fight to the death? Be Stronger Have more named skills/abilities Use the power of friendship Have sharper fangs WHO WOULD WIN? THE ONE WITH LITERALLY SHARPER FANGS ANYONE, WITH NUMERICAL AND LOGISTICAL SUPERIORITY I prefer the real Killing Bites No, the real Killing Bites. I said the real Killing Bites. The one with the sharper fanas wins. Perfection.
