Trolls is an animated film series created by DreamWorks Animation in 2016. It is based on the troll doll toys from the 80s. The series currently consists of two theatrical animated movies, two separate animated shows, and a Christmas special. It is one of DreamWorks’ most popular franchises.

DreamWorks released Trolls on November 4, 2016, after they acquired the rights to make animated media based on Thomas Dam’s popular troll dolls toy line. The film is about the characters Poppy and Branch, trolls who team up to save their friends from an evil species called the Bergens, whose joy in life comes from eating trolls. The film is also a musical, having various songs, that are mostly covers, inserted throughout.

Trolls World Tour
In 2020, DreamWorks released the sequel Trolls World Tour. In the film, Poppy and Branch go on another adventure, but this time, stop a rock music based troll from ruling over all the troll kingdoms.
