"Such a Lust For Revenge" or "Who?!" is a memorable quote uttered by the character Skull Face in the 2015 stealth action game Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain. The quote gained notoriety online due to its cheesy delivery by voice actor James Horan, similar to "They Played Us Like A Damned Fiddle!" in Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes.

Origins

In Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Skull Face is the main antagonist and leader of XOF, in which main character Venom Snake seeks revenge against for destroying Mother Base 9 years earlier during the events of Ground Zeroes. The quote was uttered at the end of the 30th mission of the game, where Skull Face became surprised when Metal Gear Sahelanthropus went out of control, noting that there was an individual with a greater lust for revenge than himself. On September 6th, 2015, YouTuber jaguar200 uploaded the scene where the line is uttered, gaining over 33,000 views in a week.

Spread

The dialogue line was quickly discussed on the Metal Gear fandom, being the firsts references to it on MGS General threads on 4chan's videogame board /v/ submitted on August 29th, 2015, three days before the game release, where the quote was mocked.^[3][4] The same day another thread on /v/ featured a "If You See This Image While Scrolling"-styled picture with Skull Face (shown bellow).^[4]

On August 30th, 2015, YouTuber eller1618 uploaded a video titled "Such a Lust For Revenge… WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO", featuring a remix of the scene with The Who's song "Who are you?" and gathering over 66,000 views in the following two weeks. On September 12th, 2015, YouTuber TerakJK uploaded a video titled "Sins of the Lust for Revenge", featuring a remix of the scene with the song Sins of the Father, and gathering over 21,000 views in the following days.
