Thank You for Saving Me, I Was So Thirsty is a catchphrase taken from a quote in an animation showing a purple character being fed a boba tea-like drink and being thankful. The original animation is part of the YouTube series "Animatic Battle" created by YouTuber GagofGreen. The purple character is named Exclamation Mark, and in the scene, they are given "schlumbo juice" to quench their thirst. In 2024, the scene became a viral meme on TikTok as creators reanimated it with different characters or renders.

Origin

On January 14th, 2024, YouTuber[1] GagOfGreen posted the video, "Animatic Battle 1: M Is For Magic," gaining roughly 1.6 million views in four months. At the video's 7:16-minute mark (shown below), two characters retrieve "schlumbo juice" for the character Exclamation Mark who is then fed the drink and says, "Thank you for saving me. I was so thirsty," when restored.

On March 20th, 2024, TikToker[2] @sparkling.sodaa posted the clip of Exclamation Mark saying, "Thank you for saving me. I was so thirsty," receiving roughly 1.2 million plays and 69,500 likes in two months (shown below, left).

Going into April 2024, people started using the video's TikTok sound,[3] such as TikToker[4] @unrestt on April 11th, whose reanimation of the scene received over 1.7 million plays and 258,900 likes in one month (shown below, right).
