The Bluetooth Device Is Ready To Pair is a notification message that is generated on smartphones and other Bluetooth software devices. The phrase is also commonly heard as The Bluetooth Device Is Connected Successfully when a device is connected and it became a popular meme with "ze Bluetooth device is ready to pell" or "cebruthius" in Brazil. Online, both audios are used in remix and parody videos, comedy skits and other meme formats shared on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and TikTok.
Origin
Although the exact origin of the notification message that is generated on smartphones and other software devices when Bluetooth is connected is unknown, the earliest online mention was uploaded on Reddit[1] on May 31st, 2016, by user u/xzzz. The post (shown below) titled "My knockoff Bose Bluetooth speaker has a Chinese accent" shows the device being activated and says the line "The Bluetooth Device Is Ready To Pair," which garnered over 20,000 upvotes and 1,300 comments in seven years.

According to a Reddit[2] post from December 29th, 2019, by user u/Ackanir, the Bluetooth speakers' voice records probably originated from a Chinese company called Jieli[3], a Chinese electronic chip manufacturer. The post also mentions two examples of videos showing some devices that have the Bluetooth audio attached to them. (shown below)

Around 2017, videos mocking the accent of the person saying the Bluetooth phrase began to spread on social media. For example, on June 15th, 2017, YouTube[4] user @DOITWITHDAN posted a video showing his car Bluetooth device saying the memorable line. The post (shown below, left) received over 615,000 views and 23,000 likes in six years. On November 25th, 2019, YouTube[5] user @Magentium posted a remixed version of the Bluetooth device audio (shown below, right), which amassed more than 47,000 views and 1,900 likes in four years.

The Bluetooth device audio has been the subject of ironic memes on social media since 2017, including a parody video in which the Cartoon Network character Dexter says the line 'The Bluetooth Device Is Ready To Pair' close to a girl's ear until she passes out. The video (shown below) was posted on Facebook[6] on April 26th, 2022, by user @thelanguagenerds, which garnered over 165,000 views and 9,200 likes in a year.
TikTok Parodies
The Bluetooth Device sound is also a popular source for shitposting memes and parody videos on TikTok. For example, on July 26th, 2023, TikToker[7] @antyy690 posted a video of a giant AirPod speaker paired with the overlay text "ze Bluetooth device is ready to pear" (shown below, left), which received over 2 million plays and 388,000 likes in a month. On July 2nd, 2023, TikTok user @kyle.kanz[8] posted a video of DJ Khaled dancing with the overlay text "Me trying to connect Blue-Tooth device but this banger comes on instead." The post (shown below, right) amassed more than 422,000 plays and 68,700 likes in a month.
