About
The Duskbloods is an upcoming Nintendo Switch 2 exclusive video game developed by FromSoftware, the studio behind Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Sekiro. The game is described as a vampire-themed "PvPvE-focused multiplayer" (player versus players versus enemies) action title announced on April 2nd, 2025, during a Nintendo Direct event set to release in 2026. Immediately after the announcement, a debate started on social media about whether the game is a sequel to Bloodborne or a new IP set in a different world, with many referring to it as "Bloodborne 2."

On April 2nd, 2025, Nintendo revealed the first trailer for the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2-exclusive game developed by FromSoftware, The Duskbloods. The video was later posted on IGN’s YouTube[1] channel, amassing roughly 99,000 views and 6,600 likes in less than an hour.
FromSoftware's official X[5] account tweeted that The Duskbloods will be a "PvPvE-focused multiplayer action title," releasing sometime in 2026 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch 2 console. The post (seen below) amassed over 1.5 million views and 46,000 likes in a few hours.
Online Presence
The game’s announcement quickly sparked a debate about the similarities with FromSoftware’s Bloodborne, with many fans calling it Bloodborne 2.
For instance, on April 2nd, 2025, X[2] user @IronPineapple_ posted a screenshot from The Duskbloods trailer, writing, “Bloodborne 2 is real and it's a fucking nintendo switch 2 exclusive oh my GOD.” The tweet amassed over 241,000 views and 11,000 likes in a few hours.
TikTok[3] user @tastyhusband posted a cropped version of The Duskbloods’ trailer, writing, “close enough, welcome back Bloodborne." The video (seen below) received more than 20,000 plays and 2,100 likes in a few hours.

On April 2nd, 2025, Redditor[4] u/Zeke-On-Top made a joke on the /r/shittydarksouls subreddit about The Duskbloods being a spiritual sequel to Bloodborne “not because it is related to vampires but because it is another console exclusive.” The post (seen below) garnered more than 300 upvotes and 30 comments in a few hours.
