The Queen Has Breached Containment refers to an image macro of an elderly woman climbing the door of the Ministry of Justice in Bulgaria. The woman in the image, which initially surfaced in 2012, became compared to the Queen of England and associated with the phrase "the Queen has breached containment" in 2019.

Origin

On July 12th, 2012, Imgur user Afronator^[1] gained over 600 points in eight years for posting a photo of a woman climbing the gate of a building with a sign saying "ministry" (shown below).^[4] The image accumulated over 18,800 views and featured the caption "Spider-Granny?"

Spread

On Jue 1st, 2019, Imgur user Abbistabbii^[2] garnered over 172,900 views in a year for a screenshot of a text conversation (shown below). In the text conversation, one person shares the image of the woman climbing and then texts "the queen has breached containment."

On November 18th, YouTuber pandaybomb uploaded an animation titled "the queen has breached containment" which uses the original image (shown below).

On January 15th, 2020, Redditor DrCharliePhD posted an image to r/dankmemes^[3] which compared the image of the woman climing to a PE teacher's grandmother (shown below). The image gained over 6,400 points (98% upvoted) in five days.
