Queen Elizabeth on the Telephone With Boris Johnson refers to a two-paneled image macro of Queen Elizabeth on the phone with Prime Minister Boris Johnson during the coronavirus outbreak in March 2020. The image, which was first shared by the royal family on Instagram, accumulated text, captions and edits on Twitter and Instagram.
Origin
On March 25th, 2020, The Royal Family Instagram[1] account posted the image with the caption, "The Queen held her weekly Audience with the Prime Minister today by telephone. Her Majesty – pictured this evening at Windsor Castle – has held a weekly Audience with her Prime Minister throughout her reign" which garnered over 345,500 likes in five days (shown below).

On March 25th, 2020, Instagram[2] user garyjanetti posted an edited version with Prince Charles with the caption, “If it makes you feel any better, Charles, I was going to skip over you anyway” (shown below, left). The post received over 103,500 likes in five days. That same day, Twitter user @pollyth0mas[3] shared the original image with the caption, "the gift of a blank meme template" (shown below, right).
On March 25th, Twitter user @ZoeForsey[4] tweeted, "Scrolled straight past this as I honestly thought it was a meme. But no… Buckingham Palace has shared a photo of the Queen’s weekly audience with Prime Minister Boris Johnson today – done over the phone due to coronavirus" to which Twitter user @MattLCapon replied with an edited version adding Lionel Richie (shown below). Marie Claire[5] published an article on the meme.
