There's a Stranger In My Bed refers to remixes of the 2011 Katy Perry's song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)," where the lyrics repeated "There is a stranger in my X". The remix grew popular in early November of 2024 in surreal edits.

Origin

On September 7th, 2024, YouTube^[1] user DJ Flapjack uploaded a remix of Katy Perry's 2011 song "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F)" by repeating "There's a stranger" in various objects. The video received over 12,000 views in two months (shown below).

Spread

A month after it was first posted, the remix grew popular with edits in which its lyrics play out on screen. For example, on October 11th, 2024, YouTube^[2] user missxbala uploaded a Roblox edit referencing the song, showing character Satoru Gojo from Jujutsu Kaisen doing the Among Us Twerk. The video received more than 1.5 million views in one month (shown below).

On October 31st, 2024, the Official TikTok^[3] of Romania uploaded an edit using a picture of Vlad the Impaler. The post received over 390,000 views in two weeks (shown below).

On November 3rd, 2024, TikTok^[4] user @m.vera01 uploaded a Brainrot remix version edit using the character Uzawa Reisa from Blue Archive. The video received more than 220,000 views in one week. On November 9th, 2024, Twitter / X^[5] user @CryingEmojiman reposted the video and received more than 9,300 likes in three days.
