About

There's A Platypus Controlling Me is a scene from the Disney cartoon series Phineas and Ferb. The scene has become a source of music remixes, mashups, and fan covers.

Origin

The Phineas and Ferb episode "Brain Drain" first aired on Disney in Latin America/Brazil on July 30th, 2010.[1] In the episode, Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz finds himself in a scrapyard, and his hands become covered in glue. Coincidentally, his hands get stuck to the vinyl records at a DJ's turntable that was playing at a party that his daughter, Vanessa Doofenshmirtz, was attending. He begins to panic as Vanessa's friends start to notice him there and start booing at him. However, Perry the Platypus has Heinz put on the "De-Volitionator" helmet, which allows Perry to control Heinz's body in order to better control the turntable. Heinz then adds a rap to his turntabling, which causes Vanessa's friends to gain respect for him (scene shown below, left).[2] A high-quality clip of the scene (shown below, right) was uploaded to YouTube by PyF Chiapas on April 24th, 2013, and has received over 5.9 million views in over nine years.[3]

He also posted an unlisted version of the video with just his cover music on the same day (shown below, right).[7]
