They Were Both Bottoms is an exploitable image originally drawn by Yuri manga author Mikawa Miso, depicting two women about to engage in sexual intercourse but finding themselves embarrassed as they realize neither of them is ready to take the lead. The panel has been parodied, mainly in redraws, by replacing the characters.

Origin

The original frame that eventually served as template is the first panel of a oneshot titled Neko to Neko no Owaranai Yoru (literally: Cat and Cat Endless Night, figuratively: The Endless Night Of Two Bottoms) (shown below), and specifically comes from an English scanlation which was first uploaded on May 21st, 2017 on DynastyScans by user Binbou Scanlation.^[1]

For example, on November 17th, 2018, Tumblr user radycat^[2] posted art with She-ra and the Princesses of Power characters in the scene, gaining over 1,200 notes (shown below, left). On May 24th, 2019, Redditor RedTowerLights posted a Danganronpa edit to /r/danganronpa,^[3] gaining over 230 points (shown below, right).
