Yuri Shall Conquer the Earth refers to a mistranslated catchphrase from the visual novel series Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo in which bubble speech has been edited with a character stating "Yuri shall conquer the earth." The image became a popular redraw template among Yuri enthusiasts in the 2010s.

Origin

On August 10th, 2013, Sono Hanabira ni Kuchizuke wo – Futari no Campus Life was released^[1]. On the official site^[2], there is a manga panel drawn by kani biimu showing the characters Kirishima Shizuku and Shitogi Eris in which Eris said "Shizuku! It's our drama CD!" in Japanese (shown below, left). A year later, Tumblr^[3] user redevildevil uploaded the panel with an intentional mistranslation, writing "Yuri shall conquer the earth." The post received more than 6,700 notes in ten years (shown below, right).

Spread

In the middle of the 2010s, the panel became a popular redraw reference. For example, on September 19th, 2015, an anonymous^[4] user uploaded a Hyperdimension Neptunia redraw to a thread in 4chan's /a/ board (shown below, left). On September 15th, 2017, Pawoo^[5] user @SEMI114514 uploaded a Kemono Friends redraw using the panel as a reference. The post was deleted (shown below, right).

On March 2nd, 2014, Pixiv^[6] user Maria-B uploaded an Akuma no Riddle redraw, receiving more than 3,100 views in ten years (shown below, left). On October 11th, 2017, DeviantArt^[7] user Mai88 uploaded a Touhou Project redraw. The image received more than 1,600 views in seven years (shown below, right).
