About

The Thin Eyebrow Prank is a prank where a person's significant other or friend claims they're grooming the other's eyebrows then shows them the results on their phone using TikTok's "Thin Eyebrows" filter, making it appear as if they groomed the eyebrows too thinly, giving them a more effeminate look and inspiring a shocked reaction. They then reveal the use of the filter. The trend began on TikTok in March 2022 and became increasingly popularized over the course of the month.

Origin

On March 22nd, 2022, TikToker[1] @the_coles_official posted a video where she pretends to groom her partner's eyebrows. Throughout the process, he warns her not to trim them too thin. She then shows him the results through her phone using TikTok's "Thing Eyebrow" filter, which makes the subject's eyebrows appear thin. He then gets angry about his appearance (shown below). The video gained over 3.3 million views in two weeks and was reported on by The Daily Star[2] on March 24th.
