In mid-2025, the line, "Bitch, this chicken is cold," became a viral meme recreated by TikTokers and animators.

Origin

The Boondocks episode "Attack of the Killer Kung-Fu Wolf Bitch" originally aired on November 19th, 2007. The episode follows Grandpa Freeman meeting a woman named Luna online and eventually being attacked by her. Luna's "traumatic" backstory and the cause for her behavior is her upbringing in a "broken and abusive" household. A flashback shows her father spitting out food her mother made for him and slapping her, saying, "Bitch, this chicken is cold." Luna also explains how her first boyfriend, Hong Kong mob boss Kenny Wu, treated her the same way and repeated the exact same line in a Chinese accent before hitting her.^[1]

YouTuber^[2] Mr. Frizz posted the scene on October 3rd, 2022, gathering over 5 million views in three years. The video was also posted to the /r/shitposting subreddit^[4] by an unknown Redditor on March 2nd, 2023, gathering over 5,000 upvotes in two years.

The scene was also reposted to TikTok in 2023 with different comedic captions. On July 14th, 2023, TikToker^[3] @scarisparis posted a video captioned, "People giving their OC's trauma," gathering over 5 million views and 700,000 likes in two years.

Recreations and animations based on the "this chicken is cold" line began to gain traction in 2025, with TikToker^[6] @foreversilley posting a video acting out the sound effect on February 8th, 2025, gathering over 200,000 plays and 40,000 likes in six months.

On May 15th, 2025, TikToker^[5] @mikel73ft posted a video that gathered over 2.1 million plays and 230,000 likes in three months.

On August 9th, 2025, TikToker^[7] @dezissa3 posted a video recreating the trend, gathering over 3.9 million plays and 500,000 likes in 10 days.

On August 17th, 2025, X^[8] user @wasabiiiladyy posted a Blobslop animation recreating the "this chicken is cold" scene, gathering over 50,000 likes in two days.
