This Is for Rachel refers to a voicemail message left by social media user Jasmine Collins for her former manager, the aforementioned Rachel, that went viral on Twitter and has since gone on to be a series of trending videos on TikTok.

Jasmine Collins's voicemail rant was originally for her former manager Rachel due to the removal of Collins from her work schedule at the hands of Rachel. After leaving a series of voicemails for Rachel, this particular one had gone to the wrong number. The wrong number was allegedly the number of Twitter user @freepark_ing.

In the message, Jasmine Collins goes on to say;

"This is for Rachel you big fat white nasty smelling fat bitch why you took me off the motherfuckin schedule with your trifflin dirty white racist ass you big fat bitch oompa loompa body ass bitch I'm coming up there and I'm gonna beat the f*ck out of you bitch and don't even call the police today cause I'm gonna come up there unexpected and wait on your motherfuckin ass bitch im coming to beat the f*ck out of you bitch."

The earliest use of the "This is for Rachel' voicemail can be traced back to Twitter. On August 2nd, 2018, Twitter user @freepark_ing had posted Jasmine Collins's angry voicemail, which had allegedly gone to his phone's answering machine instead of Rachel's.

As of February 14th, 2020, the tweet has amassed 66,600 retweets and 145,500 likes.

After the thread following @freepark_ing's tweet, the voicemail turned into a popular copypasta on Twitter. For example, on December 26th, 2019, Twitter user @imari[3] reposted the text of the voice message and gained over 42,000 retweets and 158,000 likes (shown below, left). User @zongehh posted a parody of the app Co-Star with the copypasta before limiting their account (shown below, right).

TikTok Challenge

After the voicemail became a copypasta on Twitter, it was remixed to fit the instrumental of 'Act Up' by the City Girls, which sparked a new social media challenge on TikTok. The challenge includes users lip-syncing to this remixed version of "This is for Rachel," creating their own choreography, and coming up with other ways to participate, including examples by @saltandvinegerchipss and @oliviamacdougalll, which gained over 3.3 million and 1.9 million likes, respectively (shown below).

Voicemail Aftermath

The story surrounding the meme has since been covered by websites including Junkee [1] and Bossip.[2] Theories and rumors surrounding Jasmine Collins's feud with her former manager Rachel were shared on social media sites such as YouTube, Twitter, and Instagram. One rumor involved a fight between Collins and Rachel which resulted in Collins allegedly stabbing Rachel 17 times, which resulted in a prison sentence of 25 years. As a result of the meme's popularity, Collins went on her Instagram Live to tell her side.

Her former manager, Rachel, has since been fired after an investigation from her and Collins's employer. Jasmine Collins has also not confronted Rachel and there has been no physical altercation or stabbing. Collins was also offered Rachel's position after Rachel's termination.[1]
