Verbalase's "Low Tetris" Beatbox refers to an Instagram video uploaded by beatboxer Verbal Ase in which he performs a beatbox cover of the song "Korobeiniki". Starting in March 2019, the video has been used in remixes on Instagram.

Origin

On February 16th, 2019, beatbox artist Verbalase uploaded a beatbox cover of "Korobeiniki" (widely known as "The Tetris Theme"), titled "'Low Tetris' Beatbox", to Instagram.^[1] The video gained over 1.3 million views and 220,000 likes in one month.

Spread

On March 4th, 2019, Instagram^[6] user shitnugget posted the first known edit of the Verbal Ase's video on their alternative account hoodpooper69. The video gained over 2,500 views and 450 likes in nine days (shown below). On the same day, shidnugget posted another edit of the video,^[7] gaining over 2,000 views and 480 likes in the same period.

On March 8th, Instagram^[2] user popeye.gs reposted a "I'm Hungry. Jah, I'm Serious" remix of the video created by an unknown user. The post gained over 1,900 views and 200 likes in five days (shown below). On the same day, Instagram^[3] user bepiz.man reposted the same video, garnering over 34,000 views and 8,000 likes in the same period.

In the following days, multiple remixes of the Verbal Ase's beatboxing video were posted to the platform. For example, on March 8th, 2019, Instagram^[4] user loudblacklady posted an edit which gained over 48,800 views in five days. On March 10th, Instagram^[5] user notkinghill made an edit that accumulated over 420,000 views and 54,000 likes in three days (shown below).
