About
Watching me Cry refers to a series of reaction videos featuring a clip from the reality television series Little Women: Atlanta in which Ms. Juicy gives an awkward facial reaction. Online, some have used the clip for jokes about seeing someone cry.
Origin
On April 5th, 2017, the Lifetime series Little Women: Atlanta aired the episode "Not So Little Surprises" in the United States.[1] In the episode, Nico tells Ms. Juicy that he is bisexual and begins to cry. Ms. Juicy proceeds to give a series of awkward facial reactions as Nico cries. Four days later, the channel uploaded a clip of the scene to YouTube. Within two years, the video received more than 550,000 views (shown below).
The following month, Twitter [2] @bleushockwave tweeted the clip with the caption, "When your friend breaks down about their stressful relationship, but you're single and can't relate." The tweet received more than 330 retweets, 340 likes and 7 million views in less than two years.

Spread
In December 2018, the video spread further. On December 1st, Twitter[3] user @genericgaystuff shared the video with the caption, "My mother watching me cry over not having a boyfriend." The post received more than 15 retweets and 50 likes in one week (shown below, left).
Two days later, Twitter[4] @velvetchanel tweeted the video with the caption, "my family watching me cry over a fictional characters death." The tweet received more than 200 retweets and 450 likes in two days (shown below, center).
Throughout the day, more captioned the video with jokes about awkward responses to news (example below, right).
On December 3rd, Twitter user @DamagedBttm tweeted the video with the caption, "Me watching my friends cry over boys that I didn’t like." The tweet received more than 25,000 retweets and 80,000 likes in three days (shown below).
On December 5th, the website PopBuzz[5] published a listicle about the meme.
