Whack Fuck, also known as A Game of Whack Fuck, is a TikTok sound taken from a video of an amateur golfer joking that he was "playing a game of Whack Fuck," then filming his partner hitting a golf shot (making a "Whack" sound) then crying "Fuck!" as it turns out he shanked the shot. Since appearing on the platform in mid-2021, the sound has been used in various videos in which something unfortunate happens, causing a person to cry out in frustration.

Origin

On July 26th, 2021, TikToker @girthbrooks699^[1] posted a video in which he joked he was "playing a game of Whack Fuck." The camera then shows a man lining up a golf shot, which he shanks with a large "WHACK" sound, causing him to cry "Fuck!" The TikTok gained over 3.5 million likes in three years (shown below).

Spread

The sound saw significant use among golfers on TikTok, as many golfers found the scenario and sound relatable. On August 2nd, 2021, TikToker @shullz_bzzy^[3] used it in a video in which she shanked a shot off a man's leg 90 degrees to her right, gaining over 465,000 likes in three years (shown below, left).

On August 24th, 2023, TikTok user @dougcepress^[2] used the sound in a video in which a golf shot improbably hits the shooter in his own face, gaining over 1.5 million likes in 10 months (shown below, right).

The sound has also been used for various videos in which a person or object gets hit with something. For example, on October 15th, 2021, TikTok user @arboktiktok^[4] posted a variation with a video of a dog hitting another with a toy, gaining over 4 million views in two and a half years (shown below, left).

It also saw popular use in videos in which people threw objects into wet concrete. For example, on January 11th, 2022, TikToker reaperz805^[5] used it in a video where they threw a golf club into wet concrete, gaining over 1.3 million likes in two years (shown below, right).
