When You Accidentally Type is a series of TikTok videos featuring people who act out being a mistyped emoji in a sequence of laughing emojis. The trend became popular in July 2020 after TikToker Crispinion uploaded the first iteration a month prior.

Origin

On June 3rd, 2020, TikToker crispinion uploaded a video of himself laughing but pausing in the middle to give a side-eye to act out "😂😂👀😂" (shown below). The video gained over 1.2 million likes in a month.

On July 2nd, TikToker yuhremy used crispinio's sound clip to act out a set of emojis with a girl place in the middle (shown below, left). The video accumulated over 1.3 million likes in five days. The next day, TikToker nigelwhite uploaded another popular variation using the bike emoji which received over 1.2 million likes in four days (shown below, center). On July 5th, TikToker nicktrawick13 uploaded another example that garnered over 488,600 likes in two days. StayHipp[1] published an article on the trend.
