When Your Face Looks Innocent But Your Body… refers to a trend on TikTok where a user, typically female, holds a towel over their body under the caption "when your face is innocent but your body…" followed by them dropping the towel or cutting to a shot without it, wearing lingerie or a revealing, skin-tight outfit. The trend began around October 2021 and grew in popularity over the following months, also inspiring parodies and bait-and-switch videos.
Origin
On August 8th, TikToker[1] @natalnya posted a video wrapped in a towel, writing "how strong is your pause game?" in a caption and flashing an image of herself without a towel wearing a school girl uniform, gaining over 3.1 million views in eight months (shown below, left). On September 12th, she responded to a commenter via a TikTok[3] asking her to do the trend in a bikini, bait-and-switching him, gaining over 40,000 views in seven months (shown below, right).

On October 10th, 2021, the same TikToker[2] posted a video set to the original sound "Slamuri," consisting of a dramatic violin build leading to a popping sound effect, where she covers her body with a blue towel, showing only her shoulders, under the on-screen caption, "When your face looks innocent but your body.." She drops the towel and reveals herself in a red dress (shown below). The video gained over 15.3 million views in six months. This is the earliest known video performing the trend.

The trend began to spread over the following days. On October 24th, TikToker[4] @fitkittyxo1 posted a video following the trend, gaining over 1.8 million views in six months (shown below, left). On October 25th, TikToker[5] @milamontex3d posted a video following the trend, gaining over 2 million views in the same rough span of time (shown below, right).

On November 17th, TikToker[6] @cyberkittyxo performed the trend, gaining over 34 million views in five months (shown below, left). On December 25th, TikToker[7] @valentinaof.4 followed the trend, gaining over 49.7 million views in four months (shown below, right).

The trend also inspired parodies. On February 27th, 2022, TikToker[8] @scottebragg posted a video where he follows the trend, revealing a poorly done photoshop of himself in a bikini, gaining over 142,000 views in two months (shown below).
