About

White Family Welcoming You Back to the Table, also known as Look Who Decided to Come Out of Their Room, is an image macro meme featuring a photograph of a large family seated a long dining table and looking at the camera. Online, people use the photograph for jokes about being considered anti-social by one's family told from a first-person perspective.

Origin

On September 3rd, 2013, the website MyFamilyDinnerProject.org[1] posted the photograph. In the blog post, the writer Grace included the photograph of their family (shown below). They wrote, "At the table this year, there was a lot of joking about my status as a family dinner “expert.” I shared a few games with everyone (starting with Rose and Thorn, of course), but I’m about to tarnish my reputation because the truth is, I’ve been stealing ideas from my own family this whole time."

On August 22nd, 2015, an anonymous 4chan [2] user posted the image, with the caption, "Well, look who decided to come out of their dungeon."

Honestly, I mostly just write my thoughts about myself on to photos. Thoughts I wish I didn't even have. It helps me get them out and its helped create a space where I feel less alone. 48w 5,088 likes DECEMBER 24, 2019 Add a comment. Post
