Will Smith in YouTube Rewind 2018 refers to jokes made about actor Will Smith's appearance in the 2018 Edition of YouTube Rewind. The appearance spawned two meme templates which grew popular on Reddit: "That's hot," an exploitable snippet from the video in which Will Smith laughs to himself before walking over to a pair of binoculars and looking through them exclaiming "Ah, that's hot! That is hot…", and "It's Rewind Time," a series of reaction image of Smith saying the quote paired with captions about reliving memories.

Origin

On December 6th, 2018, YouTube posted its annual "YouTube Rewind" video (shown below). Will Smith appears at the beginning and end of the video.

Shortly after the video was made, Will Smith's moments were quickly parodied. The "It's Hot" line, in which Smith views the Fortnite bus, was quickly turned into an exploitable video edit. YouTube user Funsline uploaded a green screen edit of the video, allowing for exploitables (shown below, left). User Sir Froge posted an edit that gained over 24,000 views (shown below, right).

Other examples include a post by Amaru that gained over 2,600 views (shown below, left) and a post by radflyTV that gained over 22,000 views (shown below, right).

It's Rewind Time

Smith's first line, "It's Rewind time," as also parodied in numerous reaction images on Reddit. Some popular examples include a post by TheDumPenguin that gained over 28,000 points on /r/dankmemes (shown below, left) and a post by /r/liebmann parodying the /r/funny subreddit, gaining over 38,000 points (shown below, right).
