Wizard Beer, also known as Wizard Ale, is a viral video animated by Worthikids in which a wizard advertises his brand of Wizard Ale beer to an adventurer. The video was posted to Twitter / X and YouTube in mid-January 2024 and went viral, inspiring fan art and memes referencing it, along with reactions praising the animation for its animation style.
Origin
On January 19th, 2024, animator Worthikids posted an animation to X[1] and YouTube[2] titled "Wizard Beer." In the animation, an adventurer comes across a wizard on a mountain. The wizard then advertises his "wizard beer" to the adventurer, explaining that it's made fresh on the mountain by him and his "army of little owls." The wizard gives the adventurer a beer, he drinks it and becomes more muscular and powerful.
The X post gained over 155,000 likes and 40,000 reposts in three days, with the YouTube upload (shown below) gaining over 426,000 views in the same span of time.
The animator attached a behind-the-scenes look at the animation in the X thread that day, showing how the animation, despite looking 2D, was animated in 3D using Blender (shown below).

The animation inspired reactions, memes and fan art following its release as it garnered virality. On January 19th, 2024, X[3] user @Pandaandwolf posted, "I cant fucking believe this is 3D," garnering over 19,000 likes in three days. On the same day, X[4] user @nairdaGS posted fan art of the wizard, garnering over 13,000 likes in three days (shown below).
On January 20th, X[5] user @dextnt711 posted two pieces of fan art referencing the animation and the video game Baldur's Gate 3, garnering over 45.000 likes in two days (shown below). On the same day, Worthikids posted the animation to TikTok,[6] garnering over 900,000 views in two days.
