Per an interview with the woman (Lisa Rowland) uploaded to YouTube[1] in February 2024, the video was recorded in June 2023 and shared among friends. An unknown Facebook user named Ruth from Northern Ireland originally leaked the video sometime before January 31st, 2024. The Facebook user's post was deleted by the platform's moderation team for nudity.

After the video was shared on Facebook, it spread to Twitter / X when X[2] user @2BJDJ reposted it on January 31st, 2024, gaining over 4.5 million views and 27,000 likes in two days (censored screenshots shown below).

Later on January 31st, 2024, the video was posted to /r/therewasanattempt[5] by Redditor watcher2390, gaining over 3,900 upvotes in two days. The video was also reposted to /r/PublicFreakout[6] on February 1st, by Redditor BIIANSU, gaining over 4,400 upvotes in a day.

On February 1st, the video also went viral on Instagram[7] via a Reel shared by @jennyjohnsonhi5, gaining over 6,800 likes in a day.

A censored version of the video was shared by TikToker[8] @thatvidguy2 on February 1st, 2024 (shown below).

On February 2nd, 2024, the British news show This Morning had the woman in the window video on air for an interview. The clip was uploaded to YouTube[1] by This Morning, gaining over 16,100 views in four hours (shown below).

The woman's name was Lisa Rowland and she stated that the video was filmed on June 20th, 2023. She stated that it was shared among friends. However, a woman named Ruth from Northern Ireland (whom Rowland did not know) allegedly leaked the video on Facebook, causing its viral spread in early 2024.
