Worse Than Cheating, also known as Did You Sleep With Him Or Just Kiss Him, is a TikTok trend where people describe the worst crime a person they are dating can do. Examples of things that people deem are "worse than cheating" are; giving back tickles, going to the store or watching your favorite movie with someone else. The trend originated in September 2022, and is set to audio from a scene from the Amazon Prime video TV show Modern Love where Joshua (played by Dev Patel) confronts his girlfriend Emma (played by Caitlin Mcgee) about her cheating on him.

Origin

On October 18th, 2019, Season 1 Episode 2 of the Amazon Prime TV show Modern Love was released. The episode contained a scene where characters Joshua and Emma have an argument about the latter cheating. A reupload of the scene can be accessed on YouTube (seen below).

On September 11th, 2022, TikToker^[1] @aaliyah.gregoryxx posted a video using the audio from the aforementioned clip, gathering over 300,000 plays and 30,000 likes in ten days (seen below, left). TikToker^[2] @qwixtee posted a video to the trend on September 11th as well, gathering over 1.3 million plays and 250,000 likes in nearly 10 days (seen below, right).

On September 13th, 2022, TikToker^[3] @_chelseanna_ posted a video participating in the trend, and gathering over 250,000 plays and 50,000 likes in nearly eight days (seen below, left). On September 14th, TikToker^[4] @l1nzo posted a video participating in the trend as well, gathering nearly 6 million views and 900,000 likes in a week (seen below, right).
