About

@x0o0x_ is a YouTuber and electronic music musician known for 16-bit and Vocaloid songs under a nameless YouTube channel.

History

The earliest known post by @x0o0x_ occurred on July 23rd, 2018 on Twitter.[1] The post leads to a video on Nico Video.[2]

Weeks later, they uploaded the video on YouTube, where it received more than 283,000 views in less than three years (shown below).

Over the next two years, they continued to upload videos, receiving higher and high view counts. On November 1st, 2019, for example, the post received more than 3.9 million views in less than one year (shown below, left).

On February 29th, 2020, they uploaded a nameless video, which frequent collaborator @stdio_nameraka illustrated.

Some fans refer to the channel as "The Cult of '," a reference to a song that ends with "Welcome to the Cult."[3] On May 17th, 2020, Twitter [4] user @ventila87938946 tweeted, "Actually this is not a secret cult just tribute videos for an artist who left the internet a while ago his name is Koronba an he made songs like 'a sardine grows from te soil', 'kurage', 'lamprey hole' and 'クロマグロがとんでくる '. Look him up his music is absolutely gorgeous" (shown below).

What makes the channel interesting is that it's virtually nearly impossible to search for the artist themselves. The main reason why people tend to refer to the music as a secret cult is that the videos is only found by the Youtube search algorithims by accident. Since the channel is nameless and impossible to search up, people see it as a reason of being "chosen" by the cult, even if the music is a tribute to Koronba (which Koronba is a mystery also).
