"You Should Know This Too" Pedro Pascal refers to a clip of actor Pedro Pascal on Hot Ones turning to the camera behind him and saying the phrase, "You should know this too." The viral video spread on TikTok in early 2024, as creators used it as a TikTok sound. The audio was used to portray scenarios in which someone outside of a conversation should know the information being discussed.

Origin

On March 9th, 2023, the YouTube[1] channel of First We Feast posted an episode of Hot Ones with actor Pedro Pascal, gaining over 15.9 million views and 605,000 likes in 11 months. At the video's 24:16-minute mark, Pascal turns behind him to Camera 2 and says, "You should know this too" (shown below).



But I've gotten to the point- You should know this too.

On January 31st, 2024, TikToker[2] @hey.its.sabbie posted the clip with a caption reading, "when your friends dad involves you into the lecture," gaining over 7 million plays and 1.8 million likes in three weeks (shown below). Currently, it is the first known memetic usage of the clip.

After the video's virality, people started to use the TikTok sound[3] of @hey.its.sabbie's video. For instance, an early, viral usage was shared by TikToker[4] @yupthatsdan.0 on February 14th, 2024, who made a joke about "yapping at a function," gaining over 6.3 million plays and 1.6 million likes in one week (shown below, left).

Also on February 14th, TikToker[5] @cayden_lol posted a similar video about including the back seat of the car in the conversation, gaining over 1.3 million plays and 293,400 likes in one week (shown below, right).

The most viral video during the meme's first three weeks was posted by TikToker[6] @isaiah.dorm on February 16th, 2024, reading, "When your telling a risky story, but remember your old enough that your parents can know now," receiving over 9.2 million plays and 2.2 million likes in five days (shown below).
