You Want to Have Sex? or You Wanna Have Sex? is a series of image macro memes using a scene from the sixth episode of the Fallout TV series in which Lucy MacLean asks Maximus if he wants to have sex. The scene first became the subject of memes on X / Twitter in mid-April 2024, becoming notably popularized on Reddit over the following days.

Origin

On April 10th, 2024, the Fallout TV series premiered on Amazon Prime Video. In the sixth episode, there is a scene in which Lucy MacLean (played by Ella Purnell) asks Maximus (Aaron Moten) if he wants to have sex. He refuses, stating a knight of the Brotherhood of Steel is not supposed to have sex (shown below).^[1]

On April 13th, X^[2] user @StephenSeanFord posted a portion of the scene under the caption, "my girlfriend after she has a single drink," garnering over 1,700 likes in six days (shown below). This is the earliest known meme to use the scene.

Spread

The meme gained viral spread on X and Reddit over the following days, particularly on the /r/DankMemes subreddit. On April 16th, 2024, X^[3] user @BioWareProblems posted a screenshot of the scene under the caption, "Shepard the night before a s------ mission," garnering over 2,000 likes in three days.

On April 17th, Redditor u/TomTheDuckGuy posted a version of the meme to /r/DankMemes^[4] that garnered over 14,000 upvotes in two days (shown below, left). On April 18th, Redditor u/Additional_Concern_5 posted a version of the meme to /r/DankMemes^[5] that gained over 12,000 upvotes in a day (shown below, right).
