CDPR Delays Cyberpunk 2077 Yet Again, And the Memes Are the Only Way People Can Cope
The Polish video game developer and publisher CD Projekt Red has postponed Cyberpunk 2077, the most anticipated game of 2020, yet again. Despite previous promises, CDPR just announced that Cyberpunk 2077 would take three more weeks to wrap up, citing the simultaneous release on nine gaming platforms as the biggest hurdle to overcome.
The unexpected news came in today via a tweet from the official Cyberpunk 2077 account, marking the third delay of the game which was originally scheduled for an April 2020 release.

The biggest challenge for us right now is shipping the game on current-gen, next-gen, and PC at the same time, which requires us to prepare and test nine versions of it while working from home. Since Cyberpunk 2077 evolved towards almost being a next-gen title somewhere along the way, we need to make sure everything works well and every version runs smoothly. We're aware that it might seem unrealistic when someone says that 21 days can make any difference in such a massive and complex game, but they really do.
On October 6th, CDPR promised that there would be no more delays as Cyberpunk 2077 went "gold," a term indicating that the release version of the game was complete and that the production of physical copies could begin.
Would anyone notice if we delete this real quick? ☹️

The news that Cyberpunk 2077's release moved three weeks closer to 2077 disappointed a lot of players, some of whom appear to have already arranged vacations in November to fully enjoy the game.
Soon after the word of the delay got out, Bloomberg video game reporter Jason Schneider tweeted that CDPR devs have been working 16-hour days and 7-day weeks ahead of the release, with the insane crunch likely to continue into the weeks following the release.
Look, a CDPR dev told me recently that they'd just clocked a 100-hour week. Another (former) dev just told me they saw some of their friends there and they looked "physically ill." So kindly gtfo with the "but but but I work long hours too" responses
