In what is perhaps the most 2020 Bingo Card story coming out of last nights election, a dead man won a North Dakota election for the state's house legislature.

The late David Andahl, 55, passed away on October 5th from COVID-19. Unofficial results from last night have him winning the second seat North Dakota's 8th district. Republican Dave Nehring won the other.

Naturally, the bizarreness of the story attracted Twitter attention.

According to state Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem, Andahl's death late in the election cycle should not disqualify him from being on the ballot, as mail-in voting had already begun. He also stated that should Andahl win the election, it would create a vacancy District 8 Republican leaders could fill by appointment. Voters could also petition the Governor to hold a special election.
