The saga of Ben Simmons in Philadelphia has come to a merciful end today, as the maligned point guard was traded to the Brooklyn Nets along with Seth Curry, Andre Drummond and two first-round picks in the NBA draft for James Harden. No one had a better reaction than Simmons' former basketball teammate, star center Joel Embiid.

This is certainly one way to let your feelings about a former teammate known. For those unaware, the man in Embiid's tweet is Instagram user Bigfendii, who kicked off the RIPBOZO meme by posting the picture allegedly at one of his "haters'" funerals, captioning the image with the now legendary #RIPBozo hashtag.

Those in the know immediately celebrated Embiid's tweet, taking it as a ruthless and well-executed use of the meme as it saw a sudden resurgence today.

Embiid has his reasons to beef with Simmons. The former all-star point guard has become a Philadelphia pariah over the past year. Simmons was notoriously averse to shooting the ball, and last summer, he capped off a dreadful playoff series against the Atlanta Hawks by passing on a wide-open, would-be game-tying dunk with minutes to go in the fourth quarter. Since then, he hasn't played a game for the 76ers, citing mental health concerns, much to the public frustration of his teammates and coaches.

If James Harden is in form, the combination between him and Embiid could make the 76ers a dominant force in the Eastern Conference — though Harden has a long history of being a malcontent as well.
